This week’s selection includes a little something for everyone. Discussions on Paleo and sleep, conditioning and DOMS, and rounded off with some tips specifically for you personal trainers.
Keeping with the Paleo trend, Doc Parsley just finished a three part series on how we are wired to sleep, how things go wrong and what we can do about it for Robb Wolf’s (the Author of The Paleo Solution) blog. This is a link to the final post, and here are the links to Part 1 and Part 2. It’s a great introduction and gives plenty of practical advice on how to do this stuff properly.
Moving back to a more “pure” fitness blog post, here’s a timely and lovely overview on Conditioning from Joel Jamieson. Joel is trainer to some of the World’s best athletes, and is basically knowledgable as all hell about this sort of stuff, so have a read, maybe sign up for his free four week conditioning program, and learn more about how best to train for you.
This post, about DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) and Muscle Growth, from Lyle McDonald is probably a timely reminder for all those in the UK currently experiencing a heatwave and suddenly deciding to get into the gym and get fit for summer. Read it after your first hard legs session in the gym for a while.
