Some great information on warm ups, self massage, mobility work, deadlifts and lots of videos this week for you all to enjoy over the weekend!
Ryan Wood takes us through a number of warm up movements that will prepare you effectively to take on the Big 3 lifts every time, with lots of lovely short videos for you to check out the correct technique for each movement.
You can read it here.
Lifting heavy is something I’ve always enjoyed as part of my own training and I’ve had a number of clients who also enjoyed picking up and putting down heavy things regularly. Four years ago, Cressey wrote a three part series taking us through the conventional, sumo and trap bar deadlifts. It’s as relevant today as it was then.
I’m putting this in here because Joel Jamieson’s channel has only eight videos (all from two years ago) at the time of writing, you can get through them all in a couple of hours, and obviously they’re all worth watching. So go to it!
Kelly Starrett’s YouTube channel, mobilitywod, is well worth following, and this three part live series from Jagroop Sihota, who has been a significant part of the mobilitywod team for many years now, is a great series of lessons on why we may suffer from low back pain, and how to mobilise and move correctly to fix these issues. So much information given away here for free. Learn from it!
Tom Myers of Anatomy Trainers takes us through some more advanced ideas on how to use a foam roller and other tools for self-myosfascial release. A quick and useful read to finish off the week.
